It can also launch us into a new phase of life, providing new hope and setting the stage for life-renewal. Think of moving not just as something to "get through", but as an opportunity for growth, a journey of self-reflection, a chance to be reminded of who you really are and what is really important to you.
Moving always awakens feelings from the past. Telling stories helps resolve and complete things. Even if you don't know where and when you will be moving, starting the process of getting ready can be important. In fact, the process of sorting and organizing can help you learn more about where and when to move. It can keep you working toward the move while waiting for just the right place.
Once you begin to view your move as a door opening on a new phase of life, you'll see that many things now belong only to the past and can be let go of. When you let go, you find new possibilities opening up in your life.
Dr. BZ Says:
"I know what a relief it can be not to be left alone with a difficult task. We all have a need to share life stories as we go through change. It's an honor for me to be a partner with my clients in their journeys and to watch them take charge and achieve peace of mind."

joined Moving Mentor, Inc. in 2002. In addition to being a co-owner of Moving Mentor, Inc., she is in charge of client services. Using her talents from her work in college administration and banking, she gets rave reviews from clients as she balances the practical aspects of moving with the sensitive issues of moving on.
Part of the impetus for starting Moving Mentor, Inc. (formerly Moving On, Inc.) came from friends and family asking for organizing and moving help. In 1997 Barbara moved her mother out of a house she had been in for 48 years. A task they had been dreading turned into a rewarding growth experience and spurred Barbara on to do more work helping seniors downsize and relocate.
Today Moving Mentor is a thriving business. Having moved hundreds of seniors and consulted with many young families who want to get organized or who need to move, the firm has expanded its services to meet the needs of facilities, organizations and professionals who work with seniors. Through its consulting services and products, through educational workshops and seminars to inform the public and encourage people to be proactive when it comes to making transitions, Moving Mentor is becoming a prime force for healthy change in the Northeast's outreach to seniors.
Barbara Perman, President of Moving Mentor, Inc. has been featured in the Daily Hampshire Gazette, Hampshire Life, WFCR-Public Radio, and the WGBY Public Television show “Making It Here”.
