Moving Mentor® can help!

Moving Mentor® can ease the burden by providing all the services and assistance you and your loved-one may need during the decision-making and transition process. For you, coaching is available to help you through your loved one's move. We provide phone/email support to you during this time which can be stressful not only for your loved one, but for you.

For your loved-one(s), our role is multi-faceted. We are skilled in making necessary arrangements, locating appropriate housing and/or retirement or assisted living communities, locating needed resources, supervising the actual move, anticipating needs, helping with decision-making, and smoothing the transition in every way possible.

Each step of the way, we consult with you to determine your needs and preferences and address your concerns. Moving Mentor® recognizes that when one member of the family is moving, everyone in the family is moving on.

Some of the services available from Moving Mentor® include:

  • Identifying appropriate housing and/or retirement and assisted living communities.
  • Assessing the overall situation to develop a plan and to break tasks down to manageable segments.
  • Arranging for other professional services such as appraisals, real-estate specialists, trash removal, cleaners, and estate agents.
  • Sorting out donations and arranging for deliveries or pick-ups of possessions being dispersed.
  • Coordinating, sorting possessions and arranging for packing with the moving company. Supervising custom packing.
  • Preparing floor plans for the new living space.
  • Developing inventories of all household items and the contents and destination of boxes, including supervising labeling, numbering boxes and establishing an order to them.
  • Supervising the move, and directing the movers to assure furniture and boxes arrive at their designated location as planned.
  • Unpacking.
  • Preparing the new home so that the person/people moving can get settled quickly and easily and they can enjoy their new home.
